The President signed the Law on preliminary information search and preliminary patentability assessment

The document introduces a procedure for preliminary information search and preliminary patentability assessment for applications for inventions and utility models with the involvement of specialized Russian scientific and educational organizations, which will be accredited by Rospatent. Applicants will be able to use the preliminary information search service on a voluntary basis. The procedure for conducting an information search, currently provided for by the Civil Code, is preserved and will be carried out by Rospatent, taking into account the results of the preliminary procedures.
