Rospatent and WIPO Launch Joint Seminar Series for Women Entrepreneurs, Researchers, Innovators, and SMEs Across Russia
The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Office in Russia, has launched a series of educational initiatives to broaden public engagement in intellectual property (IP).
A key focus of this collaboration is the program "Empowering Women Entrepreneurs, Researchers, Innovators, and SMEs to Use IP". In October, a series of training seminars were held in the cities of Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, and Kazan.
The project is designed to foster the growth of women's entrepreneurship, scientific initiatives, innovation, and creative industries, as well as to support small and medium-sized enterprises in effectively utilizing IP tools. During the seminars, experts guide participants on protecting and commercializing their work and offer practical advice on building partnerships and working with organizations that support IP-driven businesses.
Furthermore, another major initiative launched under this partnership in 2025 is "Empowering Youth through IP Education". This project focuses on engaging students, postgraduates, and young professionals in learning about the protection and commercial application of intellectual assets.
The inaugural workshop of the youth project, held in September, attracted 123 participants, highlighting the considerable interest in IP. The next round of in-person events is scheduled for 17 November in Veliky Novgorod, 19 November in St. Petersburg, and 21 November in Petrozavodsk.
