On the final day of the Gaidar Forum held in online format on January 15, 2021, the experts discussed the topic «Maintaining the well-being of the population during the COVID-19 pandemic». According to the Head of Rospatent Grigory Ivliev, the number of applications for inventions in the field of pharmaceuticals tended to decrease, however the situation changed dramatically in 2020. The legal protection of the results of intellectual activity in the field of pharmaceuticals has become especially relevant. It is very important that a lot of research was carried out worldwide in the field of medicine in 2020. Rospatent clearly presents how the global fight against the pandemic is fought, since the patent offices have introduced accelerated examination of applications for inventions aimed at combating the virus.
