Parliamentary newspaper: The Federation Council of the Russian Federation ratified the Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs in the EAEU

The Federation Council ratified the Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC) at a plenary session on November 18, 2020. The Protocol is concluded with the aim of expanding the Eurasian patent system and provides industrial design owners with the opportunity to obtain legal protection in the signatory countries with a minimum of procedures and costs. The document also establishes the persons entitled to obtain such a patent, determines the scope of legal protection of an industrial design and the duration of a Eurasian patent, and regulates the issues of determining the right to an invention.
