A safer taxi

Patent No.: 2771574

The largest Russian taxi services provider has patented an on-board camera that can detect signs of fatigue, drowsiness or disability of the driver.

The device consists of a case, a hardware part and a unit for attachment to the surface of the vehicle. The case is in the form of an open convex surface. It is connected to the attachment unit in a way that allows to change its working angles. The extended view of the device allows faster and more accurate detection of signs of impairment of the driver’s condition, in which case an alarm is activated.

It is expected that indicators related to the current physical condition of the driver will significantly reduce the risk of road accidents.

Test system for blood cancer

Patent No.: 2772504

Identification of factors that determine the behavior of the tumor during the development of cancer is an important task for subsequent treatment. For these purposes, a large number of tools are available to the doctors. One of these tools is the molecular study of genes that greatly influences the development of the disease. To know how exactly the disease develops is essential for the optimal choice of therapy. This is also true for such a tumor as follicular lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. It is the second most common form of the so-called non-Hodgkin lymphomas.

For the effective treatment of this disease, it is important to determine the presence of a defect in the SESN1 gene, which determines the pace of development of the disease.

A team of scientists from the National Medical Research Center of Hematology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation have developed a test system for determining the SESN1 gene defect by multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The test system allows to identify patients with an unfavorable course of follicular lymphoma by the presence of significant deletions of the SESN1 gene.

The patented test system can be easily used in most molecular genetic laboratories and provides an informative diagnostic aimed at identifying the specified marker, which helps in choosing the correct treatment for patients.
