TASS: The first Geographical Indication for wine in Russia was registered in the Kuban
The first Geographical Indication for wine products in Russia was registered for beverages produced in the Krasnodar Krai.
In 2020, winemakers from 37 wineries in the region submitted a joint application for GI registration to Rospatent. For several months, specialists were looking into the characteristics of goods, methods of production, as well as storage and transportation of products. Now wine and champagne that made from local grapes at least 85% will receive a single Geographical Indication "Kuban".
