PURPOSE:

To restore limb movement in the hip joint in case of spinal injuries, femoral nerve damage, intervertebral hernias and other diseases.

INNOVATION:

Acquired trauma to the spine, nerve trunks, innervating leg muscles, as well as various diseases lead to paresis and paralysis of varying manifestation degrees, while there is a shortage of muscle strength for walking. Pathological attitudes, contractures appear, muscle tone changes, the whole scheme of limb construction peculiar to the norm is disturbed.

To restore the gait pattern, Russian scientists have developed a device that activates motor functions in the hip joint during walking. This ensures the creation of external moments of forces, forced flexion and extension of the lower limb in the transfer phase, creating an opportunity for the patient to sit down and stand up. At the same time, energy consumption and requirements for power, dimensions and weight of actuators are reduced due to a rational construction scheme, built-in elastic elements and the distribution of masses and loads on limb segments. Due to the involvement of residual capabilities in the process of movement of the patient's muscles, movement in the forefoot is provided when walking.

OF APPLICATION:

The invention can be used both in hospitals specializing in rehabilitation and in everyday life to compensate for impaired motor functions in patients after injuries suffered as a result of injuries or accidents and after reconstructive surgeries on the lower limbs.
