The system patented by Russian physicians detects hearing loss of any kind – from the very early to the late stages. The patient is examined using a test speech sequence consisting of words or phrases with varying volume level and noise interference (in audiology this noise interference is termed «competing sound»). The system can control the level of competing sound.

The speech sequence is made by an artificial intelligence which was designed using deep machine learning. The patient is then asked to reproduce the speech sequence he heard. The patient’s answer is automatically converted to the text which the AI instantly analyzes by comparing it to the original speech sequence.

On the basis of this analysis it is possible to determine the quality of perception and processing of speech, respectively to infer the patient’s hearing condition and ability to process speech.
