100-th patent for a development against COVID-19 has been granted in Russia

According to Rospatent, the hundredth Russian patent for a development designed to combat COVID-19 is a vaccine created by the employees of "Vector" State Research Center: patent No. 2738081 "Peptide immunogens and vaccine composition against coronavirus infection COVID-19 with the use of peptide immunogens."

The feature of the invention is the production of synthetic proteins and vaccines, which are safer for vaccination, since they are created on an artificial basis. In this context, they are able to fully form a specific immune response against COVID-19. According to Grigory Ivliev, the head of Rospatent, since the beginning of the pandemic, Russian inventors have filed 467 applications for developments aimed at combating coronavirus. Up to date, 100 patents have been granted. Several dozens applications were rejected because they did not have an international novelty or were executed in breach of the existing requirements for documents. Applications for the technologies in the field of combating COVID-19 are processed on a priority basis: 23 days in average.
