3D system for Rospatent

Scientists from the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University introduced an intelligent system that compares three-dimensional digital models into commercial operation. The project was created for Rospatent as part of the national program «Digital Economy of the Russian Federation» aimed at implementing the requirements of Federal Law No. 217-FZ of July 20, 2020, which entered into force on January 17, 2021.

The technology will make it possible to attach three-dimensional electronic models to applications for inventions, utility models, industrial designs and trademarks. Rospatent is focused on new technologies and digitalization of its activities, including the transition to electronic document management and full automation of formal checks of applications and user inquiries. The intelligent system for comparing 3D models created at the University is the world's first industrial platform for registering intellectual property objects in the framework of the development of the digital economy.
