Rospatent and China National Intellectual Property Administration signed the Memorandum of Understanding

 

On December 2, 2020, the 25th Russian-Chinese Heads of Governments meeting was held via videoconference. Grigory Ivliev, Head of Rospatent, took part in the meeting chaired by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin and Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang.

In the context of the meeting, the Federal Service for Intellectual Property and China National Intellectual Property Administration signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

In view of the active development of the Russian-Chinese cooperation and administrative reforms in China, the document will replace the Memorandum of July 25, 2006 previously in effect. The updated Memorandum includes provisions on cooperation in multilateral framework, including WIPO, BRICS, APEC, expansion of cooperation in the field of geographical indications and appellations of origin, information technologies and data exchange, as well as provides for the exchange of experience in the field of patent and trademark examination, staff development and raising public awareness.
